In 2008 Paul Bowman, my daughter Lauren's North Irish mentor, inspired me to get off my duff and start a blog. I copied him and went with Typepad as my platform. In 2009 the same Paul sent Lauren back to the States with a hardback book of memories from her time there published with Blurb. Seeing as how my end game for this blog was a hold-in-your-hand book, I found that to be beyond cool. Now it's done. Be sure to look for it in the New York Times Book Review.
The maximum number of pages that Blurb will publish is 440. When I reached that limit a pop-up appeared on my computer screen warning me that I had hit my limit and that, "Maybe you should consider publishing another book."
I doubt that I will have enough original material for another from this blog, but did finish a book on the Waldo Canyon Fire earlier this year and have another planned with collected stories from relatives of days gone by.
Thanks Paul for the inspiration!
