I didn't want to be like one of those Amazon reviewers who write a glowing review of whatever, ten minutes after they tore open the box. So I've waited a month. PHEV - that would be plug-in hybrid electric vehicle. Just the right combo of an intermittently-no-emission electric car with a 42-mpg hybrid engine when you need more range. And in a Ford! Last one of those in my driveway was the old Aerostar in '95. That lasted about a year. This CMax Energi seems to be a different deal. Rock solid doors. Comfy seats. Incredible wrap around vision. Silent all-electric travel for 22 miles. And it's like driving inside of a smartphone. Voice command climate, phone, nav and music. Plays the tunes from my iPhone while in my pocket and sounds better via Bluetooth than my Murano does hardwired. Speaking of phone, the Ford app on my phone tells me where it is, charge status and I can control charging times, and program "preconditioning," which is warming up the car while plugged in so you don't waste electric range.
Very cool car! I highly recommend it. I didn't really need a new car, but time to get these carbon machines off the road. Time to put my money where my green mouth is. Hope it becomes the new Prius. (And by the way it has double the range of the plug-in Prius.)
